Amaya's turn! I feel a little awkward, I know a girl named Amaya now so when I talk about this Amaya, I get some bizzarre visuals sometimes.
Amaya's... kinda blue! I picked her color scheme is to make her look artificial, like she's a porcelain doll. I wound up redrawing her figure about 6 times before finally proceeding to that though, thanks everybody for picking out the weak spots in the others so far! Seems like my arms and necks are still not working out too well. I'm also finding I haven't got a "system" for building a figure, which needs to change if I'm going for continuity.. not to mention it'd speed things up in the sketch phase. *determined* >: V
Wonky or not, She's gone from fairy princess to kind of a zombie-ghost Amaya, but I promise she's not out for brains. She is rusting though. I wanted something suggestive of her old 'little mermaid' theme; In the traditional tale, the mermaid princess walks as gracefully as anything, but to her it feels like she is walking on knives. She endures it for the one she loves, for her chance at a soul and life after death. I thought having her feet all bloodied up would be kind of forward, and this makes more use of the setting. Plus, rusty footprints are a fun design element!
And again, I can't thank everybody enough for the feedback so far. Y'all rock!
Oh geez, I think this one is my favorite so far. The FEEL radiating off of her is so creepy. I'd scream and run away if I saw that coming towards me.
Is her previous version the happy sunshine bird girl? Cause it looks like her, only, as you said, zombie-fied.
I love the contrast with the rust and her pale skin, I also like that you included the rust aspect in parts of her hair as well.
I've been looking at the picture thinking of some sort of critique I can give you or anything constructive at all. I think a nice element to add would be since she's rusting and you she's leaving a bit of dust behind, maybe if you wore away some of those areas since they are more delicate?
