This was way too big to take on in how much time I had.. but I gave it my best shot. A fun take on our fifth project for digital illustration: create a piece about our lovely local coffeehouse, Spyhouse. Step one was to go there and chill, and just absorb the atmosphere with a sketchpad. I kind of turned my page into scratch-noodles with sketches. For a coffeehouse, this place is about as low-key and relaxing as a wal-mart. Luckily, it's a lot more fantastic, and it smells a holy heck of a lot better.

I borrowed the pieces from the interior decor of the place, including the names of their drinks, and tried to shape it into what it really felt like to be there. For me, anyway. I'onno. *shrug* Spyhouse digivolves into.. cityscape?!

Beautiful work, really awash with light and golden/yellows. It reminds me absolutely of a sprawling shopping district. Piccadilly Circus perhaps?

Going to a place that serves coffee for me will always have the city feel, just because I live out in the country more, so when I go to a coffee place Its usually in a decent sized city :) nice job.
