So Your Heart Doesn't Stop

Hands down, this is probably my favorite thing I worked on this semester for assignments. I forgot to post it because I am dumb. I was excavating my desk-top from beneath a pile of everything I've been saving there when I found it; of course, I had named it something completely obscure and unrecognizable. Which is a bad idea, although that doesn't stop me from doing it every. single. time. i. save. something.

This is from my Tools of the Trade class, for our "Anomaly/medical miracle" assignment, I picked mechanical hearts. The task was to go 3D, to build our images in layers out of pretty much whatever we wanted. Originally I'd wanted to build this diorama-from-hell sort of situation, but.. it went kind of bad. To be honest, it was a retardedly ambitious idea in the beginning.

So midway through I had to chuck that down the tubes and start over. Which sucked. I had no idea what to do for the longest. I'm still not even sure why I thought of this, but I'm still blaming it on my kaleidoscope.. the whole light traveling through layers of objects and making pretty pictures thing.

Because this whole picture is nothing but tons of layers of cut paper glued on top of each other, with a BIIIIIG LIGHT on behind it. You can't see the picture any other way. Without the big light, it looks like a big thick sheet of ... paper bits.

I don't know. But this was just fun to make > <;;;;;
