Microsoft Employees Disrupt Wii U Best Buy EventsRemember how Nintendo was showcasing some of their E3 games at participating Best Buy stores around the country? Well, apparently Microsoft employees have been hired to go to these events and preach about the Xbox One and make comments like "why would you buy a outdated Wii U when the Xbox One is right around the corner?"
However, the employees aren't getting what they hoped for. Most customers just start bashing the Xbox One in response. Seriously, Microsoft, the people attending these Best Buy Wii U events are people who are intimately familiar with the crap you pulled at E3. They ain't takin' your shit.
At first I thought this might just be a case of one really loyal Microsoft employee taking matters into his own hands (especially since the original source was /v/), but reports have come in from numerous Best Buy's around the country that indicate many Microsoft employees have ambushed the demo lines trying to persuade people to switch to the Xbox One.

There are two ways to write a novel. Plotting (you make an outline, a plan, a roadmap if you will, and then you sit down and write it) and pantsing (you write "by the seat of your pants, throwing caution to the wind). So when I get asked if I'm a plotter or a pantser, I'm all like er, uh, hold on, let me? Pantser? I think? But I kind of, um, do planny things?
And it gets kind of awkward because in these inarticulate moments I have managed to confuse everyone including myself. And probably spilled a drink.
In recent discussions, however, I've had a bit of a revelation, silly as it is. I've realized that I -- like many writers -- am a plotter/pantser hybrid. And perhaps what I'm doing is something we could call Pantsing Responsibly. And, maybe, just maybe, I could share some of my responsible pantsing tips with other writers. Starting with paper notebooks.

The Used Game ParadigmOver the course of this past generation I've been watching the video game market react to the way it's been forced to deal with increasing changes. I've come out against used game sales and even written a journal about boycotting GameStop because (like most people at the time) I believed they were the root cause of all the problems the video game industry has. But that's something I don't believe now as intently as i did then. From where I sit, piracy and used games sales are a problem, but not in the way game companies want us to believe that they are.
Used games are a good thing for consumers. We get to try games out, and if we don't like what we see or finish it early, we trade it in and try another title instead. It's a very good system for us since video game rentals are much harder to come by. Most video rental stores in America have gone extinct and outside specific Red Box Kiosks there aren't a lot of places for consumers to rent video games. The exception, of course, being thr

SPIKE updatesJust thought I'd share with you guys some updates on the progress of finishing my "SPIKE" novel.

Head!

Im finally away from campus for summer, and chilling in Oklahoma with my grandparents for a little while. The idea is to relax a little!

*looks at list of things to do*

mmm. This is going to be harder than I thought. Anyway i'm pretty excited about it all, and don't intend to waste any time anyway. There's A-kon coming up fast, we'll be sharing a table with the FABULOUS AND SPARKLY

, who by golly is the sole reason me and my sister get to go this year. We'll be rolling out with some fun new pin designs, and generally having a good time with everything.

Crow! The script is still in motion, and again I have to thank everybody who put in their two cents. There was more feedback on this than I could handle actually = =; but all of it was awesome, thank you so much. I'll be continuing to update on progress and doodles and such in my livejournal, alliestrom.livejournal.com. Keeping the tree alive so to speak! That is the challenge. The journal isn't soley about trees, in fact it hasn't been in quite a while.. but the spirit of rambling, branching, and growth will still be apparent.

Unless it.. you know. Curls up and dies. Which would be sad. > >..

Yes, I do believe we met at the Kon! Still I have to say that the work you put off there were outstanding.

Unfortunate for me and my group, we haven't stayed long after a dispute with a couple in our group. We had to leave early sunday before we even got the chance to sit among you all and show off some of our stuff as well.
