Another of my media-related arts, inspired by the oppressive winter of minneapolis and the shapes of naked trees.

Pencil drawing
adobe photoshop 7 - base colors and finishing
open canvas 4+ - painting and details
no birds were harmed in the production of this piece

I love this pic!
First look, awesome bird
Second look, Oh look! A pretty butter fly!
Third look, oh hay, wait a sec, the bird has a butterfly shape missing from its stomach...
(piece things together) OH! I get it, the butterfly....how awesome, I wonder how all this works out...
(goes off in the storyland of a mind i have)
This is the perfect art for someone like me who likes to find clues in a picture and create little stories in my mind X3 thanks for this awesome artwork!!! Now to go daydream~

Farewell oh butterfly dinner~! ;o; Goofiness aside, such a wonderful picture you produced here. The trees are well done and the overall atmosphere you created is very wintery indeed. I'm getting cold just looking at it! XD (And it's only 70 or so outside!) The splash of color the butterfly adds to the picture is quite eye catching, though it leaving the bird is kinda sad though.

For some reason, I don't feel like faving this one. It might be cause I'm tired, or I might not like the feeling it exudes. One way or another I should probably catch some sleep.

This is an absolutely beautiful, magical piece. You got the skeleton-like qualities of the trees perfectly, I think. And the whole concept and depiction is lovely. Well done.

I just fell in love with this.
The coloring in the scenery is so smooth and the butterfly is so colorful<3 It's like a bit of spring in the dead cold of winter.

Your coloring is always amazingly soft. I wish I could color like you... I fail at attempting to make everything look soft like that... This is beautiful.

I like the white ghost thing though i feel it should be more white somehow. the butter fly looks out of place completely due to the colours, one would have been enough i think.

Beautiful and dreamy. "Oranje" is Dutch for the colour "Orange", if you didn't know that already. So "Oranjes" would be something like "Shades of orange".

The detail in here in amazing. my eyes would have crossed a long time ago from those branches, an you look like you managed to keep a consistent level with it.

I love the unexpected bird, and the butterfly that goes with him. It gives the piece another layer of interest that makes you want to actually contemplate rather than just observe.

Hm, an interesting combo of both the ghostly (bird) and lively (butterfly).
Forest definitely feels like a barren winter one.

isn't winter in minnesota awful? Especially this year, with it being so cold so early. At least there was snow for christmas! I hate shoveling every other day, though. ><

The butterfly shape in the bird was a nice subtle touch. I can't imagine how long it must have taken you to do this but it is breathtaking. Especially with how you did the trees

The picture is lovely, and I know exactly what you mean. I moved 50 miles away from you about 10 years ago from the South, and omG..... I can't wait till it's Spring. I hibernate all winter. The only problem is...... when I'm ready for Spring in March or so.... it's not ready here :(
